Profile

Paul Allen (28/08/1962, Essex) played as a midfielder for West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton, Luton Town, Stoke City, Swindon Town, Bristol City and Millwall in the 1980’s and 1990’s. He won three caps for England at under-21 level. At 17 years and 256 days old, Allen’s appearance for West Ham against Arsenal in the 1980 FA Cup Final made him the youngest player to appear in an FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium at the time. Allen went on to play in two FA Cup finals for Tottenham Hotspur, on the losing side in 1987 but victorious in 1991. He remained at White Hart Lane until 1993 when a £550,000 deal took him to Southampton. After loan spells at Stoke City and Luton Town, Paul joined Swindon Town on a free transfer helping them to win the Division Two title and promotion to Division One in 1995-96. After retiring from playing Paul worked for the PFA.
